[A - ACTION - Goldberg Street

Say, Mayfield. You remember Ryo Bakura, right? Kinda awkward British kid, blabbers on and on and on about some children's card game you've probably never heard of? A little bit meek and kinda skittish? Well, no longer. See, he recently received a powerful item known as the Millennium Ring. It's an ancient Egyptian artifact of unspeakable power---though a lot of that power seems to have been drained by Mayfield itself. Still, the one thing the Ring does still allow?

Is for the five thousand-year-old Egyptian tombrobber, Yami Bakura, to maintain near-complete control of his poor, pathetic host. And after hearing about what chaos has been brewing in Mayfield from his dear wife, Téa, Yami Bakura's managed to neutralize her before deciding to head into town to get a good look at all this madness for himself.

It hardly disappoints. Yet there's something he feels he can add to this game to make it a little bit more fun...

B - ACTION - Outside the Post Office

The dark spirit lurches down the sidewalk, his hand curled over a bloody hole in his face where his left eye used to be. What sort of an idiotic trade was that? He snarls in rage. Losing an eye for his deck, of all things? All the same... it was his host's eye that was lost. Not his, though it might as well have been.

His free hand clenches his deck in fury... and something delightfully unexpected happens. At the very top of Yami Bakura's deck is a powerful monster (and a particular favorite of his, at that). The Millennium Ring glows with bright energy, and when next Bakura looks up, he can see that his monster now stands before him in physical form. Ready and willing to serve.

C - ACTION - Around Town

So here's another question for you, Mayfield. Are you hallucinating the various monsters you see before you in addition to your greatest fears? Or is there a chance that your worst nightmares may have come to life?

Whatever the answer, it doesn't change the fact that Dark Necrofear is slicing through drones left and right with her obsidian blade. And accompanying it? The sound of horrible, blood-curdling laughter.

Welcome to Mayfield, indeed.]

[While the Doctor has collected some of the mushrooms for the sake of science, he isn't curious enough to consume them himself. He's interested in finding a test subject, willing or not, later on, but that's irrelevant. Just as he's making his rounds collecting mushroom samples, the Doctor, hovering in the air, notices Dark Necrofear slicing through drones. The laughter doesn't slip past his notice.

The Doctor descends and looks at the scene with interest.]

Now that can't be much of a challenge for you. Those drones aren't even resisting.

A challenge? Hardly.

But it is fun.

That's all that ought to matter! But then, I always felt that challenge and fun go hand in hand. Here.

[Drones are the mindless puppets of the town. Wherever there is an the absence of rationality, the good Doctor always has advantage in numbers. With but a thought, the helpless drones that went unchallenged by Dark Necrofear turned more aggressive.

One drone used his own body to defend against the blades while another drone used a tree branch to strike at her sides. Other drones began to approach the obvious master of the monster.]

What in the world did you just do, Bakura?

[Grimsley's voice has lost its edge of languid arrogance as he stares at the blood dripping down the boy's face.]

Trading your eye for your card games?

[No.

This is senseless, even if they're just drones. N hasn't touched any of the mushrooms, but he's starting to suspect that they might give off spores. That laugh... it sounds familiar.

He leaves strict orders with his Pokémon to stay behind a group of bushes and approaches on his own, searching for the source of the laughter by himself.]

G-Grimsley? [The voice that pops out of him is that of his weak little host, Ryo. Good thing the tombrobber can mimic his host perfectly. Right?]

I---I wasn't expecting them to take it. It hurts...

You really are a fool.

[The insult is spoken without malice as Grimsley offers Bakura an arm.]

Come now. Go back in and trade back. However much you like your games, this isn't the way to go.

[Bakura's remaining eye goes a bit wide at the sight. Not only can the man levitate, but he can manipulate others into doing his will? He takes a step or two backwards as the drones begin to approach.

No matter. Yami Bakura's still got plenty of tricks up his sleeve. Some sort of strange glyph appears on the ground before him, only for a dark creature (http://images.wikia.com/yugioh/images/c/c3/MorphingJarGLD4-EN-GUR-LE.png) to shoot from it in an almost cylindrical form, sending Bakura's attackers flying into the air.]

Demons! You can summon demons, can't you? And my Demon Crown can't break your influence over them. Trust me, I've been trying.

This is really something.

[The drones, while greater in number, are still considerably weaker against Bakura's monsters. The Doctor never intended to win this fight, but instead, just see what Bakura is capable of. There's no reason to use any of his offensive magic against the boy.]

N-no...! [Bakura shakes his head.] I can't! Wh-what if they take something else instead...?

N! A-are you all right?

On whose authority? Grimsley, I---

[He sinks to his knees, curling into himself and cradling his wounded face. Blood seeps through the cracks between his fingers, staining his white hair.]

From: [identity profile] natural-set.livejournal.com
[The sudden jolt makes N jump, but he calms down a bit when he sees who it is.]

Ryo? I--

[And then he sees the blood on his face. Without much of any regard for personal space, N puts a hand in Ryo's hair to move it out of the way and get a better look.]

What happened to you? Was it that thing killing people?

[A light, frantic shake of the head.]

I... I was just on my way back from the post office. I wanted to reclaim my cards and they---they took...! [His eye, which N will be able to gather as soon as he parts the boy's bloody hair.] And all of a sudden, that thing just...!

From: [identity profile] tenebrousking.livejournal.com
Good grief, man. Does it matter who? Get back in there before you die of blood loss. Up, now, hurry.

[And Grimsley will reach down and try to support Bakura further.]

I can't imagine what possessed you to do this...

Date: 2011-11-18 03:23 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] natural-set.livejournal.com
All of a sudden? That doesn't factor. Come on, you need first aid, and we need to get away from it.

[Purrloin is unsure. Out of all of N's friends, he's the one who slinks out from under the bush, sniffing at the air. It makes him wary. The cat isn't in full-on defense mode, but he's low to the ground. It's like he can smell something in the air, something besides blood.

What N wouldn't do to be able to hear him.]

Demons? I suppose you might refer to them as such.

[As Morphing Jar sinks back into the ground, Dark Necrofear is able to continue to repel the crowd of the Doctor's drones. An exuberant laugh as Bakura leers up at this newcomer.]

You sound impressed.

From: [identity profile] doctor-tyrant.livejournal.com
And why shouldn't I be? Your summoning magic just has that effect. And look at what you're using your demons for too... A slaughter of the senseless variety.

It's breathtaking.

[One by one, the drones are sent to their death, but they're still resisting with all their lives. They aren't the scared lambs sent to the slaughter as they were before. They're more like soldiers, struggling in a pointless endeavor which somehow... would seem more interesting to a man like the Doctor.]

[Lex was merely gathering supplies for his car and to remove Annie's vandalism at the Hardware store when lo and behold a giant monster is slaughtering people. Great. This is why Lex never leaves home unarmed anymore...

He'll attempt to sidestep the creature and track the source of the laughter.]

photonicfighter: (Human Dakki armed)
From: [personal profile] photonicfighter
[Dakki is well and completely out of her gourd already, and her version of Mayfield is already infested with monsters. That Dark Necrofear is not slicing through drones, no no. It's slicing through colleagues, co-workers, teammates, random fools that were assigned to the same hopeless Ruins-clearing mission that she had been.

She had to stop it. This time, she had to stop it.]

EEEEEAAAAAAHHH!!!

[She charges in at it, screaming at the top of her lungs and brandishing her glowing-green photon saber, slashing wildly.]

From: [identity profile] worstdmever.livejournal.com
[Not even giant, really---she's maybe only a head or so taller than your average adult male. But guess what, Lex? She's set her sights on you now. And amidst the chaos, you'll hear a coarse voice addressing you.]

Trying to run, are we?

Date: 2011-11-18 09:02 am (UTC)
From: [identity profile] worstdmever.livejournal.com
[Dark Necrofear parries Dakki's strike, attempting to keep them in a temporary stalemate as Yami Bakura takes notice. This is new. Someone actually trying to fight his monster back. He's hardly concerned, though, laughing ominously.]

You must understand that it's useless to resist.

[Lex will turn to the source of the noise, eyes darting between the monster and the white haired boy with a most eerily sinister look in his eyes. One hand still holding his supplies, the other in his jacket pocket where his plasma gauntlet is held.]

No. Merely investigating.

I suppose you're the one in control of this... thing.
